AI Policy

We use AI tools. Here's exactly where they help, and where a person takes over.
Where AI helps
- Research: gathering and summarizing public information, like product specs, size options and common reader questions, so our editor starts from a fuller picture. Anything that matters is then verified against the original source.
- Drafting: producing outlines, first drafts of sections, alternative headlines and Pinterest descriptions.
- Images: creating styled room scenes and decor illustrations (details below).
- Housekeeping: catching typos, flagging long sentences and suggesting related posts to link.
Where a human decides
Every article on Linen & Lamp is reviewed and edited by a human editor before it's published. The editor checks facts and measurements, cuts claims we can't support, adds renter-specific context and rewrites in our voice. Nothing moves from an AI tool straight onto the site. The name on the "Reviewed by" line belongs to the person accountable for that article.
About our images
Many images on Linen & Lamp are AI-generated illustrations or styled scenes. They show an idea, like how a rug reads under a loveseat or a way to group lamps on a console table. They aren't photographs of a real apartment, and they don't show a specific product unless a caption says so. We label AI images wherever it matters, especially where one could be mistaken for a product photo or a real home.
Our rules for those images:
- realistic proportions for small rooms, with nothing that couldn't exist in an actual rental
- no "before and after" transformations presented as real
- no AI images of real, identifiable people
- retailer product photos are kept separate from AI scenes and labeled as product images
When we share AI-generated images on Pinterest, we follow Pinterest's rules for labeling AI content.
Product recommendations
Our picks come from research of public product information, buyer reviews and specifications. We don't claim to have tested a product unless the article plainly says we have. AI tools may help compile product details, but a person chooses every recommendation.
What we won't do
- publish an AI draft without human review
- invent personal stories, testimonials or "we tried it" experiences
- present AI images as photos of real homes or real results
- let AI decide what's safe (safety notes are checked against official sources)
